A nice wee treat for babies (or grown-ups); a “cookie” with no fat and no artificial sugar. Oh, and only two ingredients! Souper-baby had these from around 6 months old and loved them.
The added bonus from my perspective is that you will make between 2 and 4 “cookies”, so even if you go crazy and eat the whole lot yourself (errr, not that that has ever happened to me…) it’s not a big deal.
1 ripe banana
1 cup oats
Pre-heat the oven to 180 deg C.
Mash the banana in a bowl and add oats to make a thick, sticky mixture.
Divide the mixture and shape into cookie shapes on a greased baking tray.
Pop them in the oven to bake for around 15 minutes. The time needed will depend on the size of the banana and the amount of oats you’ve added so keep an eye on them. They’re done when they hold their shape but watch out for burning at the edges. Leave on a wire rack to cook and harden.
Enjoy! Why not try adding raisins and/or cinnamon, and perhaps serve with a dollop of natural yoghurt to get an extra serving of calcium into your little one?
